This nice fellow was in recently. He had 3 small strip and minigraft transplants most recently 7 years ago by another physician.
Although we may proceed with a frontal repair and density enhancement in the future, I was struck by his donor scars. He has 3 reasonably good scars, but why would he need 3 separate incisions? Why not either resect the scars with the subsequent small cases or even connect them so that there is the appearance of only one scar. He is not all "plugged out" nor does he have severe tightness of his scalp. Generally we excise a previous scar so that the patient only has one scar, unless contraindicated by some other factor. If he and I proceed, I feel pretty confident that we can get him down to only 1 scar. He reminds me of a similar case that I posted several months ago on this site; where the patient had 5 non-parallel scars. We were able to get him down to 3 and may be able to get him to 2 next year.
