I have read in various places that fin will shrink your penis some and will block dht receptors in hair follicles and the penis. The thing is the dht receptors become more sensitive to dht over time and increase in number. This is why when men with male pattern balding go off fin, they lose hair more rapidly because the receptors have increased in number and become more sensitive.
The trick here is after fin is stopped, there is a rebound period where the receptors in the penis are extra sensitive to dht and are increased in number. I have read that mpb sufferers often experience great sex during this time with increased libido. There is a theory that during this rebound stage, if one jelqs, weight hangs or even penis pumps, the penis will increase in size FAR beyond what it even did in puberty. I have seen one guy attest to this but he thought it was due to his penis pump being a really good one. Has anyone else noticed their penis get larger after discontinuing fin after at least 7 months of usage? |

The only way your penis can be downsized is if an angry GF/wife cuts it.....

I know that a lot of people don't believe that there is penile shrinkage with Propecia (finasteride) but I definitely had penis shrinkage. I am 50 and have been on finasteride for about 4 years now. I noticed about a year ago that my penis shrunk about 1 1/2 inches. I was about 6 inches and I am about 4 1/2 now. Its either the finasteride or age but I do not believe that age will shrink your weinny that much. I still have a good sex drive - even more sometimes. It may be that I'm getting to be just a dirty old man! But DEFINITELY have noticed penis shrinkage. I do not have much of a problem with holding an erection but I am going to try some Viagra to see if I get any penis growth from it. I don't know if the Viagra will help but I am willing to try anything - I miss my 1 1/2 inches!

DHT effects the development of external male genitalia during embryo genesis. Obviously this role ceases to exist once one becomes an adult.
Also, T still has affinity for the androgen receptors, just at a lower rate then DHT, so its not like the receptors are going completely barren. In regards to dosage, I've posted this a few times. The dose response rate is so flat it doesn't really matter. The difference between DHT levels between 1mg and 5mg is negligible. I've seen it talked about so many times on here and other forums...members talking about fine tuning their doses as if it will accomplish something in the grand scheme of things when it likely will not. The Viagra did not help the penis size. Helped with erections, though. I stopped taking finasteride about a month ago. There seems to be a class action lawsuit now so I think its time to stop. I am using 5% minoxidil now. Hope it works as well at finasteride. Hope my weenie grows back too.

I've been taking fin for about 6 months now, and I've noticed I'm not as strong "down there" (though a lot of that is guesswork since I've been between girlfriends while I've been taking it). I'm 34 years old and pretty worried, but worrying might be the problem. Not sure how much of this is psychological, and how much is a real side effect. I didn't really make a note of it until this past week..
Ever since I found out about the lawsuit the lad's been nearly DOA, and now I'm concerned it'll never come back. Not sure whether to ditch the fin, or just keep going and hope for the best... |
