Prodigy,
Because Spectral DNC contains minoxidil, this could be of some benefit. Combining minoxidil with finasteride gives you the greatest chance to regrow hair (whether it be in the hairline or anywhere else on the head). Revita is a nice adjunct treatment since it contains 1% of the active ingredient ketoconazole. Best wishes on restoring your hair, Bill

If the contrast in skin color is really bugging you I would look into getting a light tan all over, even if you have to use a machine.
Like Bill mentioned, I'd combine propecia w/ rogaine foam 5% which gives you the best shot of frontal regrowth. I don't think your hat-wearing has caused your hairloss; I would see a dermatologist or a hair restoration specialist and get checked for "minaturization", just to see what's what. Then look into the aforementioned treatments. Losing your hair is brutal; but don't let it consume you. It is likely your hairloss isn't "that" terrible, either, as many young guys overreact initially to their loss. Nonetheless, take peace in mind that you are combating it as well as you can, and a future HT, to say nothing of a new breakthrough, may very well be in your young future. GL.

Similar situation, however im 20 and currently on propecia. Not a terrible hairline but obviously a situation which I would rather not have. Just wanted to confirm one issue and follow it up with a question.
1- Just wanted to confirm that "Spectral DNC contains minoxidil" is the foam material which is essentially the same as rogain? 2- If you start taking rogain or another brand which contains minoxidil am I correct if I were to say once you start taking it you must continue for discontinuing it will result in loosing w/e hair you grew. Im just a little bit nervous about potentially taking these drugs for the rest of my life? sorry I lied three questions... 3- I started taking procecia early january and I asked my doctor if I should also use rogain as I heard these yield the best non h/t results but I recall him saying wait and see how this goes. Do you think I should really match proecia with rogain? Please feel free to state you opinions and ask any additional questions if I have not covered the situation thoroughly. I think this forum is fantastic and really you guys are the experts having gone (and going) through these issues! and btw "thanatopsis_awry" you answered buddies problems with great optimism also instilled some hope in my case. |

You're young, there are LOTS of exciting discoveries in transplantion/regrowth happening right now. Wearing a hat is likely NOT responsible for your hairline. MPB can skip generations, and it can affect only one in a family, etc. It can be caused by alot of different factors (including stress). Start using Rogaine for now, liquid or foam. It might help in regrowth, and will help prevent future hairloss. It's hard telling what technology or meds will be around for hair regrowth in the next 5-10 years. Get used to your hairline for now and try and stabilize any loss. Some people have commented that Rogaine helped regrowth in the front as well. |

adam,
Welcome to our forum! Yes, the minoxidil in Spectral DNC is the same as in Rogaine Foam, though I am not sure if there is a foam form of Spectral DNC You are correct about your assumption in question number 2. Hair loss medication may work as long as you take it, but you will lose all benefit when you stop and hair loss will continue. But yes, the minoxidil in Spectral DNC is the same minoxidil in Rogaine. Feel free to add Rogaine into your regime if you are willing to commit to it. Be sure to use it for at least 6 months to a year with the Propecia to see if it works for you. Best wishes for restoring your hair. Bill
