PGP,
I'm sorry to say we do not have immediate post op pics. Some patients do not come in the next day for a hairwash, which is when we normally take immed. post op pictures. In regards to pre-surgery density and the distribution of grafts, I would venture to guess at anywhere from 25-30 per cm2. The thinning areas are not exactly even if you look at the top down "before" picture. Approx. 25-30 gr per cm2 were added to get somewhere around 50+ cm2 for end result. Now, I am totally guessing at these numbers, and I will double check with Dr. Ron on the figures. I will let you know if I am way off the mark. Thank you all for your questions and comments.

Hey Byehair,
You are correct in your observation that this particular patient is on our website. And when we overhaul our website, he will again be on the new site. Since there are limited number of patients we have access to take updated photos (many of our patients are out of state or out of country), I thought I'd share his SURGERY DATA and show what type of coverage 2200+ grafts will do for a "diffused thinning" type as his surgery data is not shown on the website. I took a guess that this may be timely and of interest to those with same degree of hair loss.

Janna,
Thanks for posting these. Nice work. I do however, agree with member "something" in that I wish the before pictures displayed a similar hair style in order to get a true reflection of the result. Though there is an obvioius improvement, it's hard to tell just how much. Best wishes, Bill

I don't think its hard to tell how much improvement exists.
Honestly, looking at hundreds or even thousands of before and afters should give some frame of reference! Obviously, we would like to see dry/dry or wet/wet comparisions, but the guy get 2000+ grafts into DIFFUSE thinning zones. That means he not only recieved more hair where he needed it, but, he keep all or most of his existing hair thanks to SMG (mostly Janna of course) You can see from the front that his hair is much more full and his hairline is slightly more broad. The top down pics show the added effect of the transplanted hair---(wet or not, you can see the thinning) This is done with 2200 grafts--- during a time where we are seeing 3000-4000 grafts in a 8-10cm area of the hairline. B Spot,
Nobody is saying that improvement doesn't exist or isn't evident. But it is clear that the before/after pictures are not the best comparisons based on the difference in hairstyle and wet before pictures which inevitably makes hair appear thinner than it is. If an unknown doctor posted pictures like this, most people here would have broken the physician's stones. Bill

I agree with Bill. Ofcourse there is an obvious improvement, but it is unfortunate that the before and after photos weren't with similar conditions. No harm though. Great results.
