Hi there
Unfortunately I have very dark hair which is thinning on the top and very pale skin. I have heard it said that blonde hair increases the look of density and was wondering if it is true? And if so why don't all ht patients with fair skin go blonde? I would really like to hear about the effects of going blonde on density from anyone who has gone blonde post hair transplant.

Hi,

It's true, the more contrast between one's hair color and skin color does makes the thinning more apparent. However, coloring one's hair will eventually damage the hair to the point of the hairs breaking off so it's not a good long term plan. We've all seen patients go from dark hair to light hair in some of the results section and it does look like they have more density but I have to wonder how long they are able to pull that off.
