Here is the link to the 3 month photos. They are actually 1 week past due so you are seeing 3 months and a week.
As always please post your thoughts, opinions or questions as I love to hear all comments and answer what I can. http://photobucket.com/albums/v259/B...k%20Post%20Op/ |

I experienced little to no shock loss in the donor or recipient areas.
My previous strip surgeries started to sprout about the 3-4 month mark which is where I am now. I think the photos clearly show that new hair is sprouting and growing from areas previously barron. If you look at the photos, even double click them to enlarge them further, you will see plently of hair growing at the temples and even a few hairs breaking through. My previous FUE work did not grow anything until the 6 month mark but, that was in scar tissue. Currently my scars are not growing but, again that is consistent with my previous FUE scar work. I may have the slightest bit or redness in the temples but, I think it is the lighting and shadow of the "new" hairline that is coming in. You see the outline of exactly where the grafts were planted but, upon closer inspection there is hair there too. I do feel some minimal stubble coming through but, it is only 3 months ( 13 weeks) and way too early to start passing judgement. At 6 months we will know much more and see if the scar starts sprouting too. Sorry for the delay, but 1 week later shouldnt make that much of a difference. Any other questions please ask. |

Balloonman,
Yes, I just enlarged your pics & the growth is clearly evident. At just over three month you seem to be on course. Can you explain what kind of discomfort you had after surgery & how long it lasted. Was it a 'breeze' compared to strip. What did you use post-op to enhance healing? Thanks |

There really isnt much pain or discomfort at all in either surgery. Of course, strip has stitches or staples that are annoying but, not painful really. FUE has shrinkage of extraction sites which are itchy at times but, not painful either.
Post op instructions vary from Dr to Dr. With Unger, I was told to soak my head for 20 mins a day to soften the scabs and keep the area clean. He also suggested ky jelly on the recipient area to keep out germs and let the grafts heal in a moist environment. I did not do that with the FUE. I did soak my head during bathing but, no KY jelly. Just the saline spray given to me by DHI and some rogaine after a a week or so while the hair was short. Same principle really, both Dr's prefer that the grafts stay moist as much as possible for hydration and faster/better healing. I have since stopped using the rogaine, I never even went through a full single bottle. |
