This patient came from the U.S. to have Dr. Wong rebuild a new hairline and to give you coverage and fullness for the top of his scalp and thickening of the crown area.
5584 grafts were moved in one session to achieve his goals. The patient took these photos himself. 5584 Grafts Singles...1161 Doubles...3374 3/4...1049

Great results Joe! The 'gel' look really works well here and shows the styling ability this patient has.
I couldn't help but notice how much more confidence this patient exudes vs. the 'before' photos. He's lost weight, looks more outgoing and confident and clearly the new head of hair played an integral role in this! M&M

In addition, Joe, do you think he would need another procedure? Thank you,

Dakota3,
The plan is pretty simple, really. We start with shaving the recipient area so we do not damage the native hair and fill in ALL of the shaved areas as shown (some of which is well into his crown) in the photos so he doesn't look like he has the mange when we're finished with him. I thought showing the shaved out areas would logically indicate that these areas were filled. We then planted the new grafts with higher density in the front and lower toward the back (as is the most logical and prudent approach for any patient like this and of course is the same approach by other top clinics, for large areas of loss over the past several years). The regular use of Propecia that the patient has already been taking will help to maintain his existing hair and the hair we added is placed with the goal of fuller overall volume and density. Future loss is possible for everyone but the good news is that even though he had 5500 and change in this one session he has plenty more should he need it. You see, when we take these large amounts of hair in the first session the amount we take is directly proportional to the amount of hair he has in the future. In other words, if he has only 5500 in total that is available we cannot physically take all of it in the first shot. Much of his donor laxity should return which will allow us to get more hair should he need it. Per Dr. Wong's estimation this patient has at the very least 3000 to 3500 more grafts available. His donor density was good as well was his donor laxity. Had we done only 2500 for the front I'm sure most of the responses would reference the nice hairline but that crown work would be needed to "finish him off". This seems to be a running theme for small sessions on large areas of loss. Dr. Wong foresaw these observations and decided to nip them in the bud by knocking out the whole thing at once
