After spending a hell of a lot of time and effort researching, reading, asking questions, visiting patients, talking to many HT doctors I decided to pull the trigger and go with Dr Hasson in Vancouver.

Why Dr Hasson?

Most importantly, CONSISTENTLY GREAT RESULTS! I have spent far to many hours scanning the hair forums on the net to really try and get to the bottom of the actual real happiness of patients out there and my reserach always came back to H&W. They have performed over 15,000 surgeries with many patients documenting their results. I was only ever able to find about 3 unhappy patients and it was questionable whether it was anything to do with the Dr that they didn't get what they were after. I was able to find more satisfied patients from this clinic than any other clinic which makes me feel that I'm giving myself the best possible chance of getting what I'm looking for - a natural result that will yield well and stand the test of time.

I also felt comfortable with their ethics and really felt that they would not compromise my long term future for short term gain. A BIG thanks must go to Jotronic as well for patiently answering my questions with extremely detailed repsonses. I badgered this guy for 3 years, yes 3 years, before my procedure and he was always professional, knowledgable and genuinely a pleasure to deal with. The man really is a legend in the HT field.

The day before I was quite nervous, but after spending a great evening with Joe I came to realise that I had probably built the whole thing up in my head a lot more than necessary and was able to relax a lot more

The day of the surgery went really well. The clinic is in a magnificent location looking over Vancouver. Everything gives the impression of a team dedicated to 100% professionalism.

Dr Hasson did a great job of putting me totally at ease and I really enjoyed talking with him. The actual strip extraction was probably my biggest worry, but it really wasn't that bad at all. I really think the strip issue is a lot less than what some people make out on the internet. In the hands of a competent Dr of course!

I was extremely concerned about future loss so it was greatto hear from Dr Hasson that I had potentially another 8000 grafts left in my donor. He did mention my density was only about 80-85 though and my laxity wasn't great so I'm wondering if he still thinks this is the case. Joe, if you are reading this perhaps you could confirm?

So I'm now a week post op and in the waiting game.

The week post-op has been a LOT better than I expected. Minimal pain, although the scar is now quitesore to touch as the numbness is disipating somewhat. I'm using vit E oil on the recipient to help with healing so hopefully the redness won't linger. I'm also considering using Kelo-Cote in the scar area as I remember Biscuit used this. Joe can you comment?

Don't want to get too excited just yet as the only thing that really matters is the result, but I really feel that I put myself in the best possible hands and I'm cautiously optimistic :-)

For those of you who like to look at a bloody head I've attached a few photos.

Congrats!

You chose THE best surgeon (IMO) & only have a few more days until these bad boys are locked in place for the rest of your life. 15K+ patients & only 3 which were dissatisfied -and even amongst those they were always left off looking better than when they arrived- is simply astounding! One could not ask for more in a surgeon(s). 8K grafts left in your donor is insane! With approximately 11K grafts (available) in total, I wouldn't be overly concerned about future loss as this puts you in the upper echelon of density & will leave you w/excellent coverage/density should you need additional surgery.

Questions:
-age?
-NW level?
-meds?
-any pre op pics?
-w/so many grafts available was there any specific reason you did not have a larger session or did your loss simply not call for it?

Can't wait to follow your progress & congrats again, you've made a fantastic choice!

thanks Ron.

I'm a NW4a 31 year old. As for meds I'm on the big 3 - fin, minox and Nizoral.

2500 was chosen to be conservative. I my go back for more if I catch the hair greed disease, but I'm confident I'll be happy once these 2500 grow in. I already had some hair in the front as well.

Fookinhair,

Your alias is hilarious! You know you'll have to change that when your hair grows in right? Something like "Loovinmyhair" :-)

It looks like things are going to turn out very nicely for you.

Keep us posted.

Best wishes,

Bill

Thanks for sharing, Fookinhair. To take Bill's idea further you could simply incorporate your current name and morph it into Fookingreathair.

Thanks Eman. Your result is seriously top notch. If mine turns out close to yours I'll be a very happy chappy.

Hey Joe,
Good to see you on here amigo.

Curious if you had any comment on my future donor Q in the original post.

Everything is looking good so far as you can see fom the 1 week photo attached. Difficult to believe I was in that chair a week ago!

I do have a feeling my redness is really going to linger though. I noticed Bill was using aloe vera gel. Do H&W recommend this for redness?

Thanks
