This is a patient with frontal thinning that wanted a lower hairline and some thickening of the frontal scalp. We did one session of 2178 grafts (609 singles, 1131 doubles, and 438 3- and 4-hair grafts). He will continue to thicken over the next few months. The best photo to see how much thinning he had prior to the transplant is the photo with the purple surgical markings.

This patient and I have a few similarities. Our balding patterns are comparable, as is our hair color and texture. I also went in for a procedure of 2100 follicular units and my constructed hairline is also similar to this patients. My hair is beginning to grow in like this guys. Gives me hope!

Great job doc as always. You do a great job of documenting as well. You can tell who your mentor was in both respects!

Anyone in Canada that doesn't at least consider you isn't doing enough research if you ask me. I wish your practice was open to people in the U.S as well. Keep up the good work

Dr. Nakatsui,

Thanks for posting another impressive example of your work.

When you get a chance, I'd be interested to hear how many FU/cm2 you used in the hairline and middle areas.

Best wishes,

Bill

Sorry for the (super) late reply to these questions.

Mr. GQ, the patient was 9 months post op in the after photos. I have asked him to return once the hair transplant has fully matured so I can take more representative after photos.

aaron1234, I look forward to seeing your results. Is there a thread you can direct me to so I can follow your results?

HThelp, thanks for the comments.

Bill, I don't have a record of precisely how many fu/cm2 I used. I sort of "eyeball" it and adjust the density based upon hair calibre. In this patient I would expect that I would have used about 50 grafts/cm2 (50 x 2 = 100 fu/cm2) for the first few cm of the hairline and about 35-40 grafts/cm2 (35 x 3 = 105 fu/cm2 posteriorly)

Thanks to all for their comments and my apologies regarding the late reply.

Dr. N

Dr. N, I saw a couple of your recent results including this one and am very impressed. Great work and photo quality. You are extremely honest (telling us that you eyeball the density) and I wish you great success.
