I have not been on in awhile but thank you all for your responses.

Question-I'm not familiar with terms "pre-made lateral incisions" versus "stick and place" technique as mentioned by Dr. Simmons.

What is the difference? Can someone please clarify?

I understand the convenience to patients by not shaving; just wanted to ensure that one method (shaving/not shaving) is not generally recognized to have a better yield than the other. As a paying patients, I want the most hair possible out of my procedures.

Thanks again and Happy New Year.

I've read doctors say that a HT patient can go back to a desk job after ~10 days. That's obviously not possible if you shave your head. Is that really possible if you leave your hair say 2" or longer.

I really want to believe this, but I am skeptical.

I am a NW2 and can cover up my slightly receded temples keeping my hair a little longer.

When I get fue done shortly I will have my hair shaved. I work out of my place and don't mind a little redness. Besides, I've always wanted to see what I'd look like with a buzz cut.

So if I can get optimum results buzzing down, I will do it 100%!

Why not try shaving before having hair transplant,in other words before you pay or arrange a hair transplant, you might just like what you see.
Just think of the money, time, etc you will save, but make sure you do meds!

Alot of it depends on how much hair you have to cover, the density, the amount of grafts being placed, if you are lowering the hairline. Ther could be redness around the follicles from healing, stubble from the graft hairs. It will not be perfectly normal but manageable depending on the above factors. This is a case by case evaluation and can not be generalized. In many cases, hardly noticeable.
