This patient had lost the medial (middle) aspect of each eyebrow. Plan was to do 2 procedures to replace this lost hair.
120 FUE removed from back of the head, inspected and trimmed under microscope to insure only single hair FUs utilized, then implanted into eyebrows. Photos are before/after 18 months after one procedure. Second procedure to thicken brows performed earlier this week. I prefer to perform FUE on cases like this as a linear scar seems a bit overkill for such a small procedure. Dr. Feller

Nice work.
This last surgery should do it . A strip scar no matter how small is not only the easy way out but an inconvenience for the patient for a few reasons |

Thanks PGP, I agree, one more ought to do it.
It's funny that you refer to a strip scar for such a small surgery "the easy way out", because I say the same thing all the time. It keeps me motivated to perform FUE instead of strip. Brooklyn, I believe he is a puller. The hairs will grow back for a while, but depending on how much he pulls in the future they may begin to stop growing back, just as his original brows did. Thank you for commenting. Dr. F

Definitely needs one more and I think he'll be set. Maybe he doesn't have acceptable body hair to have used for this but if he did would you have looked at using that for the eyebrows?
I'm thinking when he's done with the second FUE he should grow those suckers out like a horse main :-) since their from his head and I'm sure they'd grow as long as he let them. Out of curiosity are certain hairs such as eyebrows and hair on the head more succeptible to trauma from pulling as opposed to body hair? Seems like ladies who always wax still have to continue and still experience growth. Guess it would only be good to pull the eyebrow hairs if you have a unibrow :-) |

Thanks Flyby. His last session should do it for him.
I am not a bodyhair fan, but I suppose if it ever had a place it would be in a patient like this one. But the chances of cosmetically significant growth from scalp hair is MUCH higher than for body hair, so I opted for scalp hair. Yes, the hairs will grow quite long if he doesn't trim them. I'd say there is a good possibility that eyebrow and eyelashes are more succeptible to trauma simply because they arent designed to serve as "rollers" or "cover", but probably just as crude "filters". That is, they probably are not as hardy as bodyhair or head hair simply because they don't have to be. Dr. F

Dr. Feller I am just curious as to how long it takes for the hair to smooth out and have the same texture as the rest of the hair. I keep reading about how the hair can sometimes grow out kind of kinky and would be interested to know what causes this? Also what do you do in a situation where the head hair is not the same color as the eyebrow hair? I have blonde hair but my eyebrow hair is dark brown.

good result. Eyebrows look much better and I agree that a second session will give him better results. Dr F, is there a reason why only 120 FUE was done. I would think a larger graft number would have saved the patient the hassle of going through a second procedure.
