This local patient came in for mild hairline reshaping and density. In one session Dr. Wong and his team transplanted 1489 grafts to accomplish the agreed upon goals. The results are two years post-op.

His density is average to good in the donor area and the density behind the transplanted area was also good as you observed. Under these conditions, the transplanted area didn't need to extent too far into the existing hair as you stated. One of the benefits of shaving the perimeter of existing hair during surgery is the resulting seamless transition from transplants to existing hair. If done properly, you can't tell where the transplant ends and the existing hair starts.

Joe,
I must say, Dr. Wong certainly created a very nice natural looking and refined hairline on this patient. It's good to see the kings of the ultra megasessions showing that smaller procedures are sometimes appropriate. Bill P.S. Doug, welcome to our discussion forum my friend. I hope things are well.

Thanks Bill,
Cases like this are not out of the ordinary for Dr. Wong and Dr. Hasson. Smaller sessions make sense for lots of patients. This patient had no need, much less any space, for a megasession. The need defines the approach and our approach is to get the right density ( or coverage or both) in as few sessions as possible for patients like this just like we try to get as many as safely possible for those with more aggressive loss.

I think his receded hairline may have been more noticeable to him and me b/c of his receded chin. Your eyes carry to his hairline and you can see that imo. So packing grafts there to tidy it up and bring it down a little I think improves his looks greatly. If he had a strong chin, I don't know if it would be as eye catching to me at least. Excellent work.
