This is a patient who came to us after receiving a hair transplant 1 year earlier from a national chain. We dense packed the grafts with good success even though going into scarring from the previous surgery. Patient is extremely happy and now wishes he had come here first.
Patient is 6 months post op.

First attempt didn't work... so let me try again:

Dr. Alexander,

Thank you for posting this repair patient's results.

Do you happen to have another photo showing the scarring following this patient's first surgery (with another chain), as the 2nd photo is out of focus and therefore makes it difficult to truly appreciate what level of scarring the patient was suffering from.

Are you also able to disclose the national chain the patient had surgery with first? The reason I ask is that just the other day a prospective patient was asking about recent results from MHR, while another questioned if Bosley had caught up to the latest techniques by now. I just think this level of information may prove valuable to future patients doing research on this site how these national chains continue to take advantage of people and produce mediocre (at best) results.

As for your results, they look great as usual. I continue to be impressed with your hairline and temple work!

M&M,

I'll have to apologize the day this patient came in for his pre-op's was not a good photography day for me. I only have one other photo that shows the old transplants and that one is blurry also. You'll just have to look at how far apart these transplants are and you can see the large grafts that they used. You can't really see the scarring on these photos but its on the average side for this chain, which was Bosley. The national chains do not use our techniques nor do I think they ever will because it takes too long and its too difficult and because of this it does not fit their business plan. That is why this website is so important and we really appreciate your input to get the word out.

Dr. Alexander,

Thank you for your response and for calling out who this chain clinic is. As a former Bosley patient myself, I completely agree that they will not follow in your footsteps or any of the top physicians as found on this site, as their entire strategy is built on volume - not long-term patient planning, ethics or state-of-the-art technique and tools.

Thank you again and I hope this post serves as a 'warning' to prospective Bosley / MHR patients!

Wow this one hits close to home. I'm 7.5 months into my Bosley transplant and thus far the results have been very mediocre. I know they say you should wait at least a year to see the final results but I doubt there will be any significant improvement (unless some crazy magical thickening takes place). Just my luck that I find this site two weeks after my procedure. No use crying over spilled milk though. I'm just going to find solace in the fact that they didn't butcher me and take it as a very expensive lesson learned. Dr. Alexander is my #1 choice for my second procedure but I'm going to wait until my Bosley transplant fully "matures." Do you guys think a year is ample time between transplant? Would 15 months be better? 18?

I also had some small sessions with Bosley in the mid 90's. Although the results weren't anything to write home about, due to my native hair mixed in with their HT I was able to go unoticed.

Went to Dr. Alexander for two updates and I'm absolutely loving the results.

Looks like Dr. Alexander does quite a nice job of cleaning up Bosleys messes :-).

Triplej I also found this site after my procedure with Bosley. You are right it is a very expensive lesson learned.
