This fellow is a good comparison to the 1 year plug repair I posted on this site today.

He had had several plug cases in the past and had quite a noticable regularity to his thin hair plugs; and his donor region was very scarred in.

We had a goal of 1500 grafts to try to address the frontal hairline and were able to get 1800 and work back a bit further.

We made a fairly long, think strip and using a tension free trichophytic closure, got a nice reduction in central plug scars, and I think there are still 2000 potential grafts for use in the future if needed.

The patient flew out to the Carribean and returned for these pictures at 2 weeks.

Using the Christmas tree farm analogy that I have blogged about, we essentially camouflaged the "front road side" of the tree farm by packing lots of trees around the existing crop. As this grows in, I would expect a major change in his cosmesis from front and lateral views, and I think he has enough grafts to address the top later.

These guys are often the most gratifying patients we have, as we take a noticable problem and make it much more natural in appearance.

Dr. Lindsey,

I think it might be time to purchase a new and professional digital camera. Most of these photos are terribly blurry and poor quality.

Taking good quality photos will help your photo presentations. I also would rather you focus on presenting complete photo albums since you've already presented so many surgical ones.

Best wishes,

Bill

Bill,

As always I appreciate your comments. First, regarding the quality of the photos, I do have trouble with zoomed in pics showing enough detail without significant blurriness. I have spent a fair amount of time trying different zoom/photoshop techniques and have not mastered it yet. Hair photography is completely different from face photography which I feel that I am able to get consistent pics in. I think that the problem is not the camera but the photographer in my case and it will be mastered.

Second, at your request I have posted a bunch of year results in the past month alone; and I specifically tied this plug repair to a mature/grown out plug repair that I posted at the same time as this case.

Lastly, I assumed, possibly incorrectly, that our "monthly" photo album was to be a surgical case. Perhaps it is to be a grown out case.

Clarify that if you can,

Thanks

This fellow stopped in at 6 months 1 week out yesterday. I think he is on track with 30% or so growth, which should really pick up by New Years on his next visit.

I added a few hairline shots which show that the organized tree farm is being camouflaged by random new hair growth.
