This gentleman is in his 30s and had a Norwood 3 pattern. He is blessed with coarser than average, wavy, dense donor hair with many 3-haired follicular units.
Just 4 months have passed so he has only very early growth. I have posted his early results mostly because I was asked to show a patient's donor scar. For his trichophytic closure I used a blend of Dr. Frechet's technique and Dr.Rose's technique. The strip was kept narrow and within his VSL (Vertical Scalp Laxity as per Dr. Kolasinski). A scoring incision was made and a 1 mm ledge was removed from the bottom edge then both edges were undermined about 1 cm. I used single-layer superficial running Prolene sutures and the sutures were removed after 10 days. His transplanted hairline is slightly higher than his existing hairline but his hairline is designed to take over after his natural hairline recedes more. Whenever possible I try to finish a complete hairline rather than just transplant the 2 sides. That way a patient will look more natural if it takes longer than planned to return for a second session, after future hair loss After the 1s in the leading edge, we transplanted 56 fug per square cm then 49 fug per square cm before blending in with his existing hair.
