This woman had surgery, followed by radiation, for a brain tumor. The scalp had a large scar running from side to side, where the tumor was removed. The radiation had resulted in not only alopecia, but thinning and scarring of the scalp as well. Because the circulation was in question, a conservative # of grafts was done: 1684 grafts (4307 hairs). The growth was surprisingly good, except for a quarter sized area near the front which was devoid of growth. The photos were taken at the time of a second small procedure to add some density.

This is really an excellent result, and to think all that growth occured in an area that was irradiated. I'm very happy for her and hope all goes well for her from this point forward. This case will no doubt give hope to the thousands just like her.
Great job Dr. Cooley. Dr. F

This is an exceptional result by Dr. Cooley. The combination of a large surgical scar and postoperative radiation creates one of the most adverse physiologic environments possible in an alopecic scalp. Microcirculatory changes are well document following radiation therapy, and the excellent growth demonstrated here is a compliment to Dr. Cooley's technique and surgical approach.

I agree with all the other guys. Great job. This is obviously a different case to us regular guys suffering form hairloss. This lady has obviously been through so much and these results are amazing. This is a perfect example of how important ultra refined techniques can impact a patients life for the positive. I cant offer enough plaudits for this result. Great job to all involved!

This is why I went with Dr. Cooley for my second procedure. He is a master. I just keep thinking how thrilled this lady must feel after all she has gone through- its easy to target hair transplants as just a vain luxury, but at least in this scenario, it truly helped someone who went through a horrible experience. Great job!

New-me, I couldnt agree with you more. People who havent experienced hairloss just dont understand how devistating it can be to lose hair. ESPECIALLY for women.
Dr. Cooley has proven time and time again that he is very passionate about what he does and cares more about people than to just make a buck. This lady looks awesome and Im sure she has gained a ton of self confidence from this. Kudos to Dr. Cooley |
