I haven't had a proper erection for months. Sometimes it works when I masturbate. What is causing it and what can I do?

kevin,

There could be a number of reasons for this. Thus, I'd recommend consulting with your doctors as most here won't be equipped to answer your questions.

All the Best,

Bill

kevin,

I agree with Bill. You need to consult with a qualified medical professional.

The first questions they will ask you are:

1. How long since you've noticed the problem?
2. What have you done about it?
3. What drugs are you taking?

If you are on finasteride, and judging by the length of time you are/have been on finasteride, they may ask you to quit and observe the changes in your body.

On a side note, alot of erectile dysfunction can be psychological.

A lot of erectile dysfunction problems can be psychological, as mmhce mentioned above. But sometimes, there are cases that some people lose their interest in sex because of becoming too addicted to masturbating. Cut off your masturbation rate a little and see how it effects.

Also, if you are taking sedatives, they can cause erectile dysfunction as well.

on the other hand, as there might be some other thing as well, I would also recommend that you should see a doctor as well.

Problems with erections tend to be the canary in the coal mine for heart and cirlculatory problems. Get yourself to a medical doctor asap and get a physical.
