Q- is the patient on fin or minox? The results seem natural and quite subtle. I doubt many among this patient's circle would have noticed the 13 month tranformation.

Dr. Rose,

Sometimes a little can go a long way! The hairline reconstruction is subtle, yet has restored a more youthful looking appearance in this patient.

Nice work!

Bill

i'll bet my life that these last 2 pics are misleading.
it's supposed to show how the scar is 'invisible' when in reality the scar is and should be much lower than that.
in fact if that's where this guy's scar is and that's where his 'safe' donor area was, then i would never consider this doc to do my hair transplant.
2 inches below the crown swirl -- please give me a break.

this is not the first time that i noticed this. believe me i've seen it plenty of time before but it's just my first time speaking against it.
so Bill don't get mad at me or something, it's just my honest opinion based on my observation(s).

I thought the "scar" area looked high as well. And the pics look to be from a different camera.

But, this guy's hair looks great and if in fact this isn't an 'illusion', it's a great result for 1600 grafts.

Mr GQ

Great catch! I had not even looked at those pictures. That should not be anywhere near where the donor scar would be normally be located.

Dr. Rose is a local Doctor to me (Tampa FL) and one of the Doctors I considered for my HT. Their office estimate of my graft needs was among the lowest of the 9 places i sent my pictures to (I was quoted 2200). I thought that was a bit unrealistic and smelled of bait to get me in their office.

At the same time I found the per graft cost was not very competitive.

He seems to do very good work however and has a pretty good rep in the area.

If it was actually him labeling and posting the pictures I would be surprised.

The scar is in the proper location. No swirl is evident in the posted picture. The incision should be made at the occipital ridge. If the scar is too low on the nape of the neck, a widened scar appears.

Mr GQ and miked,

Where are you two getting your information on proper scar placement?

Actually, lower scar placement is often problematic and is prone to scar stretching. Dr. Rose harvested the strip in the appropriate location which is at or above the occipital bump.

Dr. Feller posted information on our forum and since, I've published it as a Q&A blog at www.regrowhair.com. Learn more about Proper Scar Placement in Hair Transplant Surgery.

Bill

Perhaps the picture is indeed just deceiving. When Mr. GQ made his point I too started seeing the "scar" as if it were up high and towards the crown. Maybe its the lay of the hair around it?.

Dr. Rose's "ledge" closure certainly provided for a very well camouflaged scar since there's all sort of growth running through "it" at this point.

One would argue that while the scar should be above the occ bump, taking the donor strip too high risks getting hairs that will later be subject to MPB.

In fact one could also argue that there is no evidence of a scar in that picture and then the possibility remains that the hair was parted just north of the closure for the Kodak moment.

However i defer to you and Dr Rose that this is indeed typical of the results achieved via his ledge closure technique.

Dr. Rose and this patient should feel proud that me and others are amazed in disbelief at his "scarless" result

I can shave down to #2 guard undetected - I am quite impressed with his work
