This 34 y/o male with an advanced Norwood Class V level of hair loss (nearly a Norwood VI) presented in June of 2006 for his first transplant sessions of 1267 grafts (330 DFU's and 937 FU's) totaling 3607 hairs.
Several months later he had a second session of 1350 grafts (260 DFU's and 1236 FU's) for a total of 3281 hairs. The photos show the results around 18 months after this second session. The other day we performed his final sessions of 1461 grafts (225 MFU's and 1236 FU's) and he should be finished.
He has average caliber hair, but with a nice luster and finish to it. His average FU was 2.2 hairs per.

This looks great for such a low # of grafts used.Im not sure of his goals but it does appear though that he will need another larger session to finish off the process

When the temples are flat like this patient's, I routinely offer the temples if the patient is over 35 years of age. I believe I did offer that option to him, as he was so close in age, and he declined. When this option is offered, obviously it consumes usually at least an additional 400 FU's (200 per side on average), so it does add to the cost, and sometimes this is the key factor for the patient making the decision.
