Corrective Hair Transplantation after 2 procedures: one FUT and one FUE
We have all gotten used to seeing excellent hair restoration outcomes from the recommended Doctors and the members of the Coalition. Excellent outcomes are not always the norm. This young man had hair transplants done abroad in Costa Rica and an FUE done in the US. He came to see me for help to make it more natural and undetectable. The problem areas were: 1. poor angulation and direction; 2. grafts into the Frontal-Temporal forehead; 3. see through with thin coverage throughout the whole top of the scalp; 4. donor harvested from too low resulting in a widen low lying scar. We performed a 2526 FUT procedure to soften the plug-like look and decrease the see-through, increase the density of the hair line to mid-scalp area. FUE was employed to remove the grafts in the frontal-temporal forehead. FUE was again employed to transplant chest to scalp scar in an effort to hide the wide scar from his prior procedures. 2526 FUT: 354 1hair 1162 2hair 1010 3hair Result photos are 6 months post procedure. Christine,
This patient looks terrific for only 6 months and only 2526 grafts. Kudos also to your clinic for taking high resolution photos including close-ups! Now, a top down angle of the scalp before and at 6 months after the procedure too would be icing on the cake :-) Bill

christine.....this patient is well on his way to a more natural restoration - looks much better....i notice the grafts from the previous treatments sit in front of the hairline that you have recreated....curious what Dr. Arocha's plan is for those - i guess the patient could try electrolysis as i would think removing those could lend to some subtle but visible scarring in what is a very exposed area.

Remarkable length and thickness in this patients transplanted hair after only 6 months, amazing! Hopefully everything continues on this path, this patient must be thrilled with his results after such a short amount of time.
Keep us updated on his progress. Like Bill, I'd love to see those top (downward) angles when you get them =)

orangehair,
Right you are. Dr. Arocha has been removing them by using a very small .7 mm punch to FUE them out. Alternatively, I assume electrolysis could be used but the .7 mm will leave very minimal if any scarring. Robin-at-USHR, The patient is certainly thrilled with his new corrective results. We will definitely get those top down angles when he comes in for his next follow up. Thank you so much for your feedback. Have a lovely weekend.
