FUT performed on a 25 year old Caucasian male with:

- NW Class IV-V
- Donor density of 65 FU/cm??
- Hair diameter of ~75-85 microns

Treatment plan:

- 1st Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation to reconstruct the hair line, mid scalp area up to the crown area
Optional :
- 2nd Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation to fill in the entire crown area and achieve a higher density rate on the mid scalp area
- A medicinal therapy with minoxidil 5% and finasteride 1mg to prevent further hair loss

Performed procedure (April 22, 2008):

A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 4403 FU
* 1683 single hair FU
* 1923 double hair FU
* 797 triple hair FU

Donor closing in 2mm lower edge Trichophytic Closure Technique (double layer suture);
A combination of parallel (single units) and perpendicular incisions (mid scalp area and crown area) in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0,85mm ??“ 1,1mm);
Dense packing technique with a density of 50 FU/cm?? in hair line and feather zone (single units), a density of 30-40 FU/cm?? in density zone (double units).

A second procedure is already planned in April 2009. I will keep you informed!
