This fellow presented for 1 year followup and has done well. He has a nice natural hairline and minimal scar; and has been a nice referral source and reference patient for folks to call.

Custom 0.72 mm and 0.85 mm blades were used to give a nice non-straightline hairline and a 2 layer trichophytic closure was used on the donor site.

Dr. Lindsey,

This looks like a very nice result. Once you purchase a new professional camera and/or master the art of taking close-ups, I'm sure it will be easier to show off the quality of the result.

Best wishes,

Bill

I have been following his result for quite some time and he looks fantastic. But I believe you stated he got 2500 grafts in initial postop pictures.

Nice work Dr. Lindsey. Guess that old scar was a result of a bad closure because you're donor scar looks great!

This guy was a great candidate since it appears he's probably won't be losing any more hair.

Hi Dr Lindsey. I don't know if Bill is jocking but if you want to present your work in the best way, I heartily recommend to get a DSLR now that prices are settled (if you don't have one already).

BTW the result looks very natural.

Haslo,

I looked back for the original post and after looking for about half an hour I couldn't find it. I did post his 7 month update here: 7 month update on 1700 graft frontal dense-pack by Dr. Lindsey of McLean VA

I don't think that I listed him as a 2500 grafter initially. I think in his original post I specifically showed his wide hypertrophic scar and I just couldn't find his original case today.

Flyby, no I don't know if it was a bad closure, a bad "scarrer" or both; but I am glad his donor site scar looked like it did.

Stamos, I am now trying to improve my photoshop skills. If that fails, I'll look into the camera.

Thanks

Dr. Lindsey McLean VA

Dr. Lindsey, if you look at your doctor page by scrolling through all the surgeons on the HT network, after selecting "William Lindsay, VA" your homepage shows up. In your patients results you have listed him twice, the first is 1700, and to th third the same exact face with 2500 grafts listed. They can be identical twins also...Jk.

DLSR cameras are not necessary for this type of photography. A simple point & shoot is perfectly fine and is what we use.

DSLR cameras are great (I love them for my personal photography hobby) but are overkill for clinical photos. All that is needed is good even lighting (NO FLASH) and a steady hand assisted by a solid tri-pod. Photoshop should never be a necessity save for blocking faces.

Jotronic,

I value your opinion and your posts not only on this but other threads.

I expect photo quality and consistancy to improve and I use photoshop for cropping, and now magnification. Occasionally I can figure out how to type a legend using that tool also, but my kids are far more fascile using the paint/blend utencils than me.

I have a similar set of software that is photoshop based, that I use for nose/rhinoplasty simulation from Seattle software, and it is idiot proof. Thus I am pretty good with it, but it is of no use for hair editting.

Thanks
