any help guys with this would be great its a simple question im sure some 1 could help me out quick with a answer to it???

If a patiant already has a strip scar from a previouse HT. During surgery for a 2nd HT, will the surgeon remove the old scar with in part of the donor strip skin and close up omly leaving 1 new scar???

or will he/she simply work around it i.e taking the new donor strip from bellow or above the existing strip scar etc?

cheers for any 1 reading and and thanks for answering if yer do....

Yes, He/She will remove the old scar at the same time the new strip is taken...so you would be left with only one scar.

Although not in my case....My Doctor in Toronto gave me 5 strip scars with 3 surgeries...what a jerk!!

Double check with your doctor thou....if he/she is going to make a fresh one RUN!!

I agree that the ideal situation is that the doc will remove the 1st scar in the 2nd surgery leaving just 1. However, you need to check with a doc whether this is possible in your case. From what I have read if the first scar is badly located (esp. below the ridge at the back of your head) this may not be the wisest course of action.
