This patient is 8 months post-op, he received 2786 grafts to the front and both sideburns. The patient had a face lift and they removed his sideburns in the process. We restored the sideburns and transplanted 2000 grafts in the frontal third.

About 700 grafts in sideburns
About 2180 in frontal third

Great job. And that preop is the hallmark of a bad facelift in my opinion. We have a fellow close by who likes to remove female sideburns too. He gives a whale of a pull, but it looks horrible there in the temple. Your patient should be delighted.

Dr. Lindsey, thanks for your comment on this patient. Actually the plastic surgeon is the one who referred this patient to me. I do not understand why they need to remove the sideburns. In fact the patient had no idea his sideburns were going to be gone after the surgery.
He is extremely happy now and loves his new hair.

Dr. A.

I don't know either. But some docs like to swing for a homer every case. We have a guy nearby who does just that.

Those mega pulls can often hold up for years...but in my opinion the patient looks very unusual for the first several months.

By cutting up along the parietal scalp and pulling, you can address crows feet somewhat and brow drooping, but unless you are willing to cut trichophyitcally along the edge of the sideburn(and many don't) you wind up like your patient.

Here is another example of facial restoration with sideburns. Hope this is what people were asking for examples of in the other forum.
