This is a 45 y/o male with a donor limitation of 3000+ grafts for this procedure. The patient was most concerned with the frontal half, but wanted to make sure that we put enough grafts in the crown to ensure that his density improved there, as well. Therefore, we decided to place roughly 2300 grafts in the front 1/2 of his scalp and roughly 700 in the crown.
The final count ended up at 3047 grafts, with 2317 in the front 1/2 and 730 in the crown. The breakdown is as follows: 561 1-hair follicles 2072 2-hair follicles 414 3-hair follicles The graft sites for the 1-hair follicles were made with a 20g solid core needle. The sites for the 2- and 3-hair follicles were made with a 19g solid core needle.
