Asian Player,
Congrats on your recent surgery my friend. As usual, Dr. Wong's work looks ultra refined, and such a large session will give you a huge cosmetic improvement. You have a journey ahead of you while you wait for new growth. It gets a bit bumpy at times, especially if you experience shock loss. But in the end, you've selected a world renowned surgeon and will have a real nice head of hair. Keep us posted on your progress. Best wishes, Bill

Looking good and your recipient looks good!! The doldrums will take a while, but once out of that stage in a couple of months you will like your hairline even more.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the comments Wantego, Just checked your weblog & your 7 month results are looking fantastic. I see you got allot of triple grafts that's a good thing mate. Being partly Asian my grafts mainly came in ones & two's, number results are as bellow. Turning 30 this year, so I think I did the HT at a decent enough age. Cheers

AP, good call going with Dr. Wong.
Your pics show excellent coverage post-HT. The new hairline looks great. At 1 month, you are exactly where you should be. My new hair started falling out at the 3 week mark too, as much as I hated seeing it happen. Hang in there for another 3-4 months then the fun part of the journey starts. Enjoy! You have lots of growth ahead of you.

Being Asian myself and with a similar hair loss pattern, I'm very excited to see your future results. Best of luck on the regrowth; the work looks fantastic. Out of curiosity, do you know what your density numbers are in the transplanted areas?
I also noticed that it's hard to make out your scar in your post op pics. Is your scar even visible from behind? If not, how short is your hair to effectively hide the scar? Cheers! |

Hi AP
Your photos look great and with 8900 total hairs transplanted by H&W I am sure you will look fantastic in 8-12 months. By the 12 month mark the Finasteride that you are taking should help thicken up your existing hair further to help maximise the end result of your transplant. We all look forward to seeing your progress photos during the year. You certainly chose a clinic with a great reputation that do have many satisfied patients around the world. Nobody can disagree with that. There is one thing that stood out to me which is the hair breakdown of your grafts. I have never seen so many singles and so few 3s and 4s obtained from any transplant result posted on this website by any patient or Doctor. From what I have read, a typical person has: 10-15% single haired follicular units, 50-55% two haired, 30% three haired, up to 5% fours. Your transplant obtained an astronomical 1615 single haired follicular units out of 5083 which represents 32% of your total grafts. An even bigger surprise is that only 313 grafts were 3s and 4s which represents only 6%. Your hairs per graft average is 1.75. Typical is 2.1 to 2.2. To be honest, I don't think I have ever previously seen a total hair count posted by a H&W patient. Normally its just the 4000+ graft number. Are there any patients on this site that had a strip procedure which managed to obtained over 30% singles and/or less than 10% three haired grafts as AP did? I am just curious... |

JustCurious - actually, from what I understand from my own hair research, a unique attribute of Asian hair is that there is a higher percentage of single and double follicular units and less 3 and 4 groupings than Caucasians.
