This is an excellent example of EARLY growth. Most patients have to wait until nine or ten months to enjoy this amount of coverage, but for whatever reason he grew very quckly.

It's nice to see a doctor trying to set ralistic expectations in patients.
I have seen many patients post pictures who had outstanding early growth with megasessions and I believed that was normal. It really is 9 months of so until everything starts to become cosmetically acceptable. The pattients with slow and/or marginal results do not stand out in your mind, but I believe they are a silent majority. Less likely to post their photos, perhaps maybe a bit more insecure with their results.

Mgem, HD, glyby, Yogi, and Lee,
Thanks for the feedback and the kudos. Emperor, Trying to promote realitic expectations is not as easy as it may seem. Not all patients will grow like this one even after 14 months. It's just a fact of physiology and all patients are subject to this variability no matter who their doctor is. Here is a link to a recent patient of mine http://hair-restoration-info.c...66060861/m/729108881 who posted a less than stellar result. Even though I performed the same exact surgery on him as I did on the patient in this thread, notice the density difference and overall lower cosmetic result. This can happen to any patient. Fortunately, a second surgery will usually get them to a much more significant and satisfying cosmetic result. All patients must be aware of this reality and it's up to their doctors and members of this community to make sure they know this when deciding whether to go for an HT or not. Thanks for the kudos and for participating. Dr. F

Dr. Feller,
I agree that this patient looks terrifc, especially only for 6 months. I also have also appreciated your candor and willingness to get past the hype and deal strictly in reality. Your posting both of this superb result while linking to a less than impressive result in this thread is a prime example of this. Every situation is different and there are so many variables that can impact whether a result is stellar. Sometimes it's the progression of male pattern baldness and sometimes it's poor growth yield to to some "X" or "H" factor (among many other possibilities). This is why we've stated many times that even the most well respected and dedicated surgeons in the field don't bat a thousand. But doctors who stand behind their patients unconditionally and provide consistent quality results make up the qualities of doctors we recommend on the Hair Transplant Network. Best wishes, Bill
