Been using nanogen when had long hair, cut it short now and its not any good, what do people use with short hair?

one problem i have is that i have dirty blonde hair. so blonde is too light, and light brown/ brown is too dark! with dermatch, could you maybe mix the platinum blonde with the light brown or dont they mix?
