This female at age 51 was found to have a brain tumor. The surgery was successful in removing the tumor but she was left with a bound down scar just behind the hairline. It was impossible to cover. It was complicated by the fact that in the most frontal zone, the skin was tissue paper thin and bound down to the skull. There was no fat layer and almost no dermis (2nd layer). During the first session (10 years later) the grafts in the worst area had to be placed almost parallel with the skull. It was surprising that when the first session grew in that the skin in this area was much thicker. Such is the stem cell activity of hair follicles. The 2nd session did help thicken the hair further and it is no longer noticeable.

Very nice work Dr. Parsley. I'm sure she must be thrilled to have hair in place of the big scar......I'm happy for her. Thanks for the example.

seems like a more complicated case. great job doc. And some interesting result of skin thickening after the first surgery. She has had good luck with surgeries and I wish her well.
