This patient had excllent hair except for a gap missing along the right end of his hairline just before it intersected with his temple hair. Such cases were tailor made for Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)
Using our motorized FUE tool and Feller Punches we extracted and microscopicaly prepared 200 FUE grafts which were placed into the right side of the hairline. Resutls are at one year post op.

Looks great Dr. F. Completely natural. I can't tell the difference between the existing hairs and the transplanted hairs. Blends in very nicely. I must say though that I find it a little bewildering that dudes like this feel the need to get a transplant. Lucky bastard.

This is an excellent result and an underappreciated approach.
I have a gap in the center of my hairline where the cowlick was not properly restored. The size of the area is nearly identical. Is it feasible to select only singles during a small FUE procedure? My other issue has been doubles on the hairline.

Pristine result; totally seamless.

Dr Feller,
Excellent example of a great candidate for this type of work.It also illustrates another important point.Namely that even those with a seemingly excellent head of hair are very concerned about these "imperfections".I believe in many ways it is more irritating to them than losing significant amounts of hair. Splitting: Thank you very much. He's in his thirties and is not on medications.
Aaron: Yes, his compulsion to replace the hairs in those areas was overwhelming for him. Just goes to show how relative hair loss perception really is. When he first came I had to ask what he was doing here. But it didn't take long for him to transmit his major concerns. Thankfully he agreed with a very conservative approach. Thanks for the kudos Young: Thanks. It's not really feasilbe to select only singles during FUE. Unfortuantely that is a myth because you never know how many follicles in a follicular unit are awake or asleep until you dissect it. BUT, that's not a problem because we always place all the raw FUEs under a microscope and if necessary divide them down to all singles-which is EXACTLY what I did in this case. A double here and there on a hairline will not cause a problem, but more than that is unacceptable. TC: The punch is mounted on the tool. Like the bit for the drill. I think what you're asking is why would I mix motorized and manual techniques. I didn't. Thana: Thank you for the comment. Mick, It was good visiting with you at the meeting in Amsterdam. You have an excellent sense of humor and sarcastic wit. It would have been nice to have more time to speak. As for this patient YES, i believe this little area was more irritating to him than patients with norwood 4 hairloss. Thanks for the comments.
