top of head that also shows the back
without a part down the middle i was advised by another place, a salon, who seem to specialise in hair extensions and clips ons. They have pics on there site of work they have done which look great. That the best idea for me would be to shave the entire top of my head and put in place a piece using russian hair and tape it on. i dont know which is the best solution to be honest as ive never done anything like this before. look forward to everyones helpful opionions thanks all |

I think I would wait & see the results before I did something as drastic as shaving the hair on top.
Here are two reasons: 1. You want to make sure that the hairpiece looks good and blends naturally with your own hair. 2. Some people just never get comfortable with wearing a hair system. This isn't a criticism, just a fact. You need to make sure you're comfortable with it before shaving your hair. You can order a clip-on unit and see how you like it after wearing it for a few weeks. If you decide that you like it, THEN you can shave the top of your head, cut the clips off, and start attaching with tape (best for beginners) or liquid adhesive. |

Hi Bob.
thanks for your advice. i will take your advice and do so. im nervous how it will look and if people will notice. But i guess i can only try. got a question bob : I was advised that european virgin hair was best for fine hair that would suit mine best ??... Is this true ?... or is indian hair just as fine and good to use ? i read on another forum that you know of places online that sell quality pieces. could you please private message me with links to some of these websites. thank you sir |

hi..
ive been doing research.. the swiss lace using tape piece looks good with human hair. Has a good hairline. In my research ive been advised that "clip ins" pull at your natural hair. Are uncomfortable especially to sleep in. Also have been told "clip ins" are not very secure. I see, and its a very good point, bob what you saying about hair peices are for some and not others and also to try it first. But I dont wish to be bald at the young age of 36 and after having long hair all my life im kinda used to it and would preffer to stay that way. Also where i live is very cold and yeah its cold already with thinning hair. So figure a piece may also keep my head warm as well as keep a youthful appearance. I think ive found a good place in australia that sell pieces. They are a lot cheaper than two others places. One qouted me $1800. One qouted $1200 for a clip in. This place i found online, which i emailed and he emailed back with hepful information, sell hair peices for $500 and give a large selection of bases etc. Ive emailed him back with several other questions. I just want to do thorough research before diving in and shaving whats left there. At the moment im using nanogen nanofibres. They work good and conceal But im tired of it getting on my fingers now and then when i rub my head. Sometimes a bit can sprinkle out onto my forehead. Nothing bad but yeah just have to be warey to check them mirror to wipe it off so i dont look like ive been working in a coal mine. lol. I give nanofibres this much. I live on a small windy island and i was out the other day and it was blowing a gail and the fibres stayed in. I wasnt out for long but the wind was sure blowing a storm. I also figured that, if i possibly go down the swiss lace hair piece road, it would only bee a once a week detach, clean up and reattach routine. In time like anything i would get used to it and it would be a more semi permanant solution. Would also be nice to have a hairline again after all those years without having to grow long hair from the back and brushing it forward to have a pretend hairline. lol I will continue to do research and use nanofibres for the time being. Just would like to come up with a solution before i loose more up top. Which seems to be going fast and thinning out. So yeah basically would like to come up with a solution before im bald for awhile and then all of a sudden full head of hair. Would spin people out. But yeah you know what i mean. oops sorry.. another woffle season thanks for everyones help shall post when ive done more research etc |

Hi..
just curious.. does anyone else get a mild burning sensation on the crown area were it is loosing hair ?? i know i do. Some days are worse than others. wish i could get rid of the sensation because its annoying. a mild burning itching sensation. does nizorel shampoo get rid of this sensation ? update on the piece. i bought a hair piece online. it matched my colour and texture but looked very thick and more hair than i have. I had it cut in but still its very thick. So im not sure. I was researching around the place and found a site that do "suction wigs". They use a thin layer of silicone. They also use untreated european hair. The hair piece i bought was using indian remy hair and in my research people say that "european untreated hair" is better for people like me with very fine hair. More natural looking. I also sent pics to a lady who does wigs and was recommended this also. so in the new year im waiting on a reply from a lady who does these "silicone suction based wigs" to see price etc. She has 25 years experience in wigs. I figured if im going to get it done i want to go somewhere who know what they are doing, a proffesional, and have it cut in properly. Nothing worse than a poor wig huh. So as soon as i get the reply it looks like im flying home for a few days to get something sorted out. its worth the time and money because currently im not happy. And i wont be happy until i have this hair loss problem resolved. thanks for the support everyone shall let you know how i get on. |

Hey Steak, I haven't been on this forum in ages and I just saw your post. I haven't worn a piece in 3 years but I used to order mine from Coolpiece.com, they have the best prices and good quality. Hope this helps.
