hi there
I have had 2 hair transplants, both in the frontal area of my scalp. It's been almost 12 months since the second, and I think my forehead got bigger after having it (the second), even though new hair was put in the frontline then, too.
So, I was wondering, can this have to do anything with the doctor straining the upper side of the scalp skin downwards to tie it with the lower one after cutting off the donor area?
Is this related in any way with the new hair being still rough and "tight", not softened (this happens about 18 months after the transplant, right?)?
thank you

The stretch you get from closing a donor wound really comes from the back of the neck upward, not from the forehead back. Even if there wes a small amount of stretch from the forehead, I doubt it would be measurable. It may appear larger, but this may be due to the characteristics of the new hairs. Usually brittle "tight" hairs do soften over time.
