This fellow had continuing miniturization of his crown hair despite medical therapy and desired transplantation to thicken his coverage. We shaved a bit into his existing hair and placed 2600 grafts in a nice counterclockwise swirl. He did an excellent job of keeping the entire area clean and his day 7 suture removal pics show this nicely. He'll be back around Christmas for a scar check and then next summer.

I love when doctors do a perfect job recreating the patient's natural vertex 'whirl,' and this is an excellent example of just that! Great work Dr. Lindsey. This case is going to look fantastic and natural when it's fully grown.

Another great documentation. I always feel that I am better educated after seeing the intensity of your images. Good amounts of grafts into the crown. The patient looks as though he has good thick native hair and Im sure that this is the start of a great result. Keep us updated Dr.

Thanks for the comments. He was easy to do the whirl with... nice thick donor grafts and a whirl template to follow. I posted a couple of crowns this summer that really didn't have any whirl, and although they were good cases, this type requires a bit more thought in slit placement.

Thanks, you know I add those incision pics for a couple of reasons. First, it shows the prospective patient what is done...you'd be surprised at the number of folks who come to my office, directly from this site, who really have no idea how you move hair from the back to the front...

Second, it shows why I think deep sutures are important. Even leaving skin closure in for 10 days, in my opinion, is not enough time to take the load off of the skin itself; thus setting up potential scar widening. We take all the load off of the skin with our deep closure so that the tricho closure sutures can be removed at a week safely, with a pretty small chance of scar widening.
