45 year old gentle man
Three sessions done
1) 2162 grafts Jan 2005.
2) 1860 Grafts July 2006
3) 1025 grafts March 2006

Picture taken 8th Feb2007 before 4th session so this result is of 5047 grafts.

The session was deliberately small one as I did not want him to look odd from back if I do bigger session.

This is an optical density, in my terms we create an illusion

"Its Just an Illusion" of denser hair

Dear members

This is one of my patient who was turned down by three other surgeons for his excessive demand about the coverage and limitation of donor area.

He wanted almost all area covered with hair, denser at front and less at back.

I had 2 hours long conversation with him.

His last session was done with 1000 grafts in 2007 and he has not been to me so I could not complete the set. I have learned he is very happy. i will update when he comes back.

It was a challanging patient and challanging demands.....He was told the limitations.

I promised him if I fail to deliever in 4 sessions I would refund half of the fee.
So far he has not come back to reclaim the fee.........I do give money back gurantee in my practise. Have given back so far to only 5 to 7 patients of about 2700 or so.

Your comments are most valuable for me to progress

I'm impressed. This looks insanely good considering where he was pre-op. And a lot of times you see patients classified as NW 7 who really appear to be a 6; this guy was REALLY a 7.

The main issues of course are the large bald area in and below the crown and the thinness on the sides; however, the rest looks very good in my opinion. I think you're right: most doctors would have never approached the design this way.

I personally still don't believe the general public understands MPB that well, and most don't associate certain balding patterns with transplants whatsoever. So if the transplanted hairs look natural, an unconventional approach to the placement doesn't necessarily mean that there will be a ton of detectability.

I think this is also the type of result that could be enhanced with a little bit of makeup-based concealer, like dermatch for the back and side areas, provided there is enough hair to bond to. Not enough to achieve a lot of coverage and of course a cakey look is undesirable, but just enough to improve that barren section. Another session with some sprinkling in those regions and I think you could have something profound here.

Dr. Mohmand,

Would you mind sharing with us why you are using Photoshop (and very badly I might add) in every "before" photo and at least one "after" photo?

Every before photo has been altered but these two photos are the most obvious.
