This patient is just over 11 months out from a nice frontal procedure. Shown are his preop, intraop, and this visit pictures. He has a nice framing of the face and a virtually undetectable scar.

Dr. Lindsey,
Thanks for presenting some result photos. I agree that his hair looks good now. However, without true before pictures showing his hair before you shaved it, it's difficult to evaluate the result. Do you have before pictures before shaving the recipient area you can post? Best wishes, Bill

Bill,
Thanks for the comment. He wore a partial hair-piece over this portion of the scalp and essentially had no hair in this area; a combination of his alopecia, the traction of the hairpiece adhesive, and HIS shaving of the area to facilitate hair-piece adhesion. I am certainly a fan of shaving the recipient area, as I have blogged on multiple occasions, but in this case the area was clean of all except "peach fuzz" upon walking into the office. Interestingly, just after you posted your comment yesterday, I got a call from a fellow I worked with back in 2001, and 2003; referred to me at that time by my childhood barber. He wore a similar piece and essentially had results similar to this case. He called yesterday to tell me he wants to come in next month to address the crown. If he shows, I'll put up his OLD pics which I think show exactly the issues I allude to above. Thanks Dr. Lindsey McLean VA
