Dr Feller places 200+ FUE into this patients old strip scar. The results at 8 months show promising results Growth into scars has consistently proven to be slow also so hopefully more growth to come over time

Hi Spex,

Can you enlighten me a little about why FUE into the scar vs excision of the scar. I've seen both done and am interested in what determines the best approach. I recall you had FUE into yours scars and the results are amazing.

Thx

Hi Flyby,

FUEing into a scar is determined by the size of the scar and also if the Doc feels that due to poor positioning or numerous sessions previously in the area, therefore hindering laxity of the area -FUE'ing into a scar would be recommended as a more viable option in terms of making the patients situ better.

Scar revision can work well via removing previous strip BUT very often is the case that removing a strip by a strip can often lead to scar stretching, yet again. This is a judgment call by the Doc. When performing surgery you only want to make the patients situ better - not worse - and i have seen many attempts at scar revision which result in the scar being in exactly the same situ as before if not worse due to the patients physiology and previous sessions not because of the Doc ability. We see a lot of patients who have had previous scar revisions or whos first surgeries have resulted in small areas of the scar stretching. This is why Dr Feller first started to introduce "postage stamp" sessions i believe - Should have been called the "Scar tweak " session.

I had great success with FUE into my old Bosley scar - But only had a relatively small area to hit.

Hope this helps mate
Regards
Spex

It would appear on the top pictures that not all the grafts took
and then on the pics below in different light seems better,
were they taken at diffrent times,
at 8months is he done or will there be more to come , being as it was scar tissue being grafted into.

Are you referring to the pre op picture. The patient is only 8 months post op. Growth into scar is notoriously slow so the patient has a way to go still.
