This patient is 29. His hair loss started at age 22. He has been on Propecia and Rogaine for one year. His paternal grandfather has class 6 baldness and his father has thinning hair but no baldness. He is commited to wearing his hair short. The longest he ever lets his hair go is a #1 clipper setting. So, it was his main priority to do the tansplantation with a technique that would not force him to wear his hair longer to hide a donor scar. FUE was the best option for him.
1519 follicular units ( 784 single, 558 double, and 177 triple hair) were extracted using a 0.9 mm punch on a rotary hand engine set at low rpm. Extraction was widely dispersed throughout his donor zone. On follow-up three days later we decided to make a slight modification in the corners of the hairline. 175 additional single hair follicular units were extracted and placed. By 6 days post op extractions sites were already becoming inconspicuous and by 11 days barely evident. In the 11 day pictures some of the transplanted hairs have already begun to fall out. The patient experienced no post operative discomfort and never took any pain medication.

I look forward to seeing the progress of this patient.
It will be interesting to see what type of coverage he gets from this 1500 FUE procedure compared to others who have gotten a 1500 graft strip procedure.

thank you for your comment mick......ez, I expect a result consistent with a 1500 FUT just minus the linear scar, the yield for the fue is really a non issue with evolution of technique....cheers!

Do you have any grown out fue pics Do you have any grown out fue pics Do you have any grown out fue pics You said he yield for the fue is really a non issue with evolution of technique.. This drill technique has produced very inconsistent results with other doctors. What makes you confident your clinic will overcome this? |

orangehair,
Thanks for presenting an example of Dr. True's FUE work today. I'll be interested to see how things grow out. I don't think anyone familiar with the FUE technique can deny the additional risks of follicle transection when extracting and placing the follicles. However, the right tools using delicate hands in many cases can overcome these risks. I too would be interested in hearing more on Dr. True's philosophy on FUE, candidacy, how he's overcome some of the hurdles of less than optimal growth yield with FUE, etc. Best wishes, Bill

You know with some pictures you could actually become NewYorks leading clinic. Heck maybe Americas.
I watched the fue video and am very skeptical about it but you could squash that with some photos. Otherwise your just practicing with a drill like Armani does. We need proof that your drill is different then the others or people will stay away like the plague. |
