I had a HT with dr. Cooley last week. I just got some pictures yesterday. My weblog was updated with pictures as well as a detailed account of my journey in dealing with my hairloss. You can view my weblog here: http://www.hairtransplantnetwo...e-page.asp?WebID=502

I will frequently update my weblog throughout my growth journey.

A great thanks to many members of HTN who helped and guided me through this journey.

Density achieved: about 60 FU/cm2 at the hairline and decrease upward. Grafts were placed at the frontal third of the head.

1 hair = 717
2 hair = 908
3 hair = 464
4 hair = 8

Total grafts = 2097
Total hairs = 3957

Donor density: 85 FU/cm2
Strip was 20 cm X 1-1.4cm wide
Trichophytic closure, non dissolvable sutures
Platenet rich plasma (PRP) used

Thanks GQ.
How do i get the feeling that only a HT forum would have an user with such a name! I think we are a bunch of metrosexuals
You would never see such a name on, say, a renovation forum.

Please check my weblog for reasons for going with dr. Cooley. Beside, Charlotte is only a 2 hours flight from Montreal. H&W and Rahal are great doctors so you can't go wrong with them either.

Man, that looks impeccable. You also must have done a really good job at keeping the area. No chunky scabs or anything. Your post-op period so far must have been relatively comfortable, not having to deal with a lot of crusty-crust junk up there and also having a really good looking scar. Awesome stuff.

Latinlotus,

As usual, Dr. Cooley's work is clean and ultra refined. I expect you'll have a very nice result and be pleased with your new hairline.

Even before your hair transplant, you've been a patient's champion. Thanks for all your insightful contributions and I look forward to your continued involvement and following your progress.

Best wishes and Happy Thanksgiving!

Bill

Thanks Balody
Thanks Bill
Thanks Youngsuccess. My post-op care is just standard. Pooring water and shampoo on the grafts once a day. Spray Regranex gel (some kind of growth factor solution that dr. Cooley gave me) on the grafts 4 to 6 times a day. I think the real factor may be the addition of PRP during the surgery, which is supposed to speed up the healing. You can check my weblog for a more detailed explanation.

Happy Thanksgiving to our American members.

Latinlotus,

Congratulations on what appears to be an outstanding surgery. The work look very refined, clean and the density looks great - without it going overboard. Your post op healing also seems excellent.

You've done a great deal of research online and have also helped others focus on getting the best results. You certainly deserve the first rate results you've gotten.

Pat

Thanks Pat again for publishing this web site, which saved me from going to that famous FUE doctor.

I do think with the money we, HT patients, are paying, as well as the impact it does to our image, i think we all deserve to get first rate results.

At day 7, I just had my first real hair wash yesterday. It feels so good. I am just waiting for the growth phase now.

Hi All,

I just updated my weblog with week 2 pictures. Please check it out.

Not much change since day 6. I had my first regular shampoo on day 8, using my fingers tips (not nails) to massage recipient sites to remove the little remaining scabs. I could not remove all the scabs at the scar as they are stuck to the sutures. I noticed some native hairs loss. Maybe due to my imagination, maybe due to shock loss, but in any case, there was not much.

Just went for my sutures removal with Dr. Kohn, an experienced local HT doctor referred to me by dr. Cooley. It is about time as the scar became a bit itchy in the last 3 days because the stitches compressed on the skin. The nurse did an amazing job removing the sutures as well as the remaining scabs. The experience was painless. I feel bad for those who had staples, who had to endure them at night and who had to go through an uncomfortable process of staples removal. For those who travel for HT, I highly recommend to go to a local HT doctor (or plastic surgeon) for suture/staple removal. It is simply too complex to have it done by a regular doctor, or by yourself/spouse.

On the pic, the scar looks as good as I can hope for. Just hope that it will not stretch. Most redness surrounding the scar is caused by the sutures. Otherwise, I would say it is pretty clean.

The transplanted hairs are still there and are growing. I think about 30%-50% shed so far.
