Patients is a Norwood Class 3 Vertex with straight, medium fine hair and a donor density of 2.2. Because of his early thinning at the temples and frontal hairline, he constantly combed his hair forward. Results after one follicular unit hair transplant of 868 grafts.

Looks nice, but was this really necessary?

Seems to me this guy would have been a perfect FUE candidate with such minimal loss and small area to fill. Also doesn't look like he'll be victim of major future loss as well.

The hairline does look very natural!

Well done Dr. Bernstein.

Dakota,

I suppose what's necessary is relative. Though some may not feel he really need a hair transplant with such minimal loss, if the patient himself was bothered enough by it to seek hair restoration and was a good candidate, why not?

flyby,

Good point about FUE. It would be interesting to hear from the patient to see if he explored that option and why he chose strip.

I know for me, even if I had minimal loss, the expense alone would probably tip me toward strip. Though admittedly, many clinics charge a lot less for FUE today than they used to.
