I probably first noticed my hairline receding around 19 or 20. I was devastated since it was the eighties and I had some pretty cool, super-long heavy metal hair. I was sure I'd be a cue ball by age 25. Fortunately for me, while I quickly developed a mature hairline that I was very self conscious about, the rest of my hair remained thick and no one could tell since it was so long.
About the age of 25 I cut my hair short and it still looked great. It hung in there pretty well through the rest of my twenties and early thirties and I was pretty happy with it until about 35 when I started losing most of my front third and my crown thinned a bit. At that point I buzzed it down pretty tight for the next few years since there was not too much I could do with it anymore.
At the age of 40 I decided enough was enough and scheduled my first HT. Although that first procedure failed to deliver the expected yield, it had a very positive impact on my appearance and convinced me that hair transplantation was the right choice for me. On April 26, 2010 I went back for HT #2 in order to lower my hairline and fill in the low density areas. I'm confident that this second procedure will provide the results I'm looking for.
