I always had a thick mane of hair and so did most of my family. I had thick hair throughout my 20s but my hailine slowly started to recede mid 20s. I put this down mainly to use of AAS due to my sporting pursuits. I still had hair up until my early 30s by this point the androgen-dht conversion had taken its toll out of my thick locks.
I tried to fight it with Regaine but that only kept it at bay for a few more years. I eventually took the guard off the clippers and skinned it. I became that crimewatch photofit and although I pulled it off, I secretly preferred my old beachbum surfer look.
I never really looked at hairtransplants because I didn't believe they work. I stumbled across some photos of a TV personality who had had a transplant and although he had used concealers, I thought "that looks impressive". I looked at the clinic in the UK where he'd had it done and was very impressed. I decided to research a bit more and looked at other's results. I started to dream of maybe at getting back to my early 30s thinned but passable look at end was mindful that I must be realistic. I toiled with the idea of going through this, changing my mind everytime I looked at poorer results and then sparking the dream when I saw the better ones. I also felt that I some of the best results I'd seen in one session had been across the pond.
That was it, I decided to go for it. I started on Finesteride in Dec 09 and sent my photos to Hasson & Wong to be assessed. I waited for the response...and waited...then I got my response (see below) and recommendation of 4,500 FUs.
From then on in, I was sold and booked my HT for the end of March 2010. I planned my trip to the nth degree and was ready.
