Comments about hair loss treatments you've tried or are considering:: I have been on Proscar (1.25 mg/day) since September 2009. I really haven't noticed a huge difference, but I will continue to take it. In regards to side effects, initially I had decrease in libido but that has subsided.

Fingers Crossed's Hair Loss Story

I began receding shortly before beginning college (2003) and it definitely affected my self confidence. To mask the hair loss, I used Dermmatch starting my Sophomore year of college and began using Toppik and Dermmatch in conjunction during my Senior year. At times the toppik and dermmatch appeared artificial and this definitely had a negative impact in regards to my social life in college. Don't get me wrong, I had a blast but I think I would have been more outgoing if I wouldn't have been so self conscious about my hair loss. After graduating, I began working at a hospital and I use to spend at least 2 hours every morning trying to perfect my hair so it wouldn't look thin or artificial. I would wake up every morning stressed out about my hair...that's no way to live life. Even when I was in college every girlfriend that I was with, I made sure that they wouldn't touch my hair. I would even avoid showering with them in attempts to avoid them finding out that I had "hair make up" on. I'm going back to school this coming August and I hope the hair transplant Dr. Hasson performed on me gives me improved confidence.
