Well around 21 my temples started receiding I guess and it bothered me that they were big. I have an identical twin brother. His hairline was fairly like mine but my temples were way more receeded then his. So i shaved my head for a couple years. Sometimes I even used a 0. I realized I liked having hair better and my head wasnt the type to not have hair. My head is rather bigger then normal. So i hit 24 years old and saw the Bosely infommercial on one late night. I always thought I would never get a hair transplant and thats crazy for people who do. I was skeptical thou so i set up an appoinement and they looked at me and the Surgeon Randy Dean said i was to young to get work done yet and for me to wait another 6 months. I waited 6 months cameback and he said it was still to early. I left angry and then heard about Medical Hair Restoration (MHR). I setup an appointment and met with Dr Marco Barusco. He basically told me in a nutshell that he could fix my hairline but he told me the risks. I can still lose hair after the transplant and that it might look funny after. My dad is 45 with a thick fast growing head of hair like Elvis no lie. My mom also has nice hair. My dads dad has been practically bald since he was 18. I am now almost 26 and still not to that point so Im thinking my that was just my mature hairline that I had but just receeded more then I could bear. I wanted to do surgery so we set up the surgery date for July 21, 2009 which was my birthday which was a nice gift :). I turned 25 the day of my procedure. I went in for surgery and Dr Barusco did a strip surgery with me. He transplanted 1640 grafts to my hairline. The left side of my hairline was more receeded then the right. The surgery took about 7 hours and went excellent. Its almost been a year and Im kind of concerned. The left side is still lagging behind in comparison to my right side. The middle of the hairline is seeming to grow faster I dont know why. I guess I am one of those slower growers. I am also in the military so after i had the transplant I got deployed to Iraq and am still here. For the training I have to wear hats and a helmet. I dont know if that had any effect on the growth. Im hoping to see a lot of improvement within the next 6 months. By then it would be 18 months post-op. Let me know what you all think. Thanks
